TVOS2.0 is a new generation of smart TV operating system based on the integration of TVOS1.0 with Huawei MediaOS and Alibaba YunOS. According to previous media reports, Huawei is mainly responsible for the development of TVOS2.0, and the TV shopping mall built in TVOS2.0 is responsible for Ali.
Smart TV operating system TVOS2.0 was jointly developed by more than 60 production, education and research related units from home and abroad, such as Huawei ’s Broadcasting Research Institute, Huawei, Ali, ZTE, and Skyworth.
According to reports, TVOS2.0 has built-in smart home services, media gateways, intelligent human-computer interaction, big data collection and other software function modules, and is equipped with a variety of value-added services such as video communications and TV games, which can support set-top boxes, all-in-ones, media Various smart TV terminal forms such as gateways.
At the meeting, the Science and Technology Department of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television announced the establishment of the "Broadcast and Television Intelligent Terminal Industry Alliance" to further accelerate the innovation and popularization of China's smart TV operating system TVOS2.0. The TVOS working group of the smart TV operating system and Linaro, an international open source code community organization, signed an agreement between the two organizations to join each other and become a member unit.
In December 2013, the Science and Technology Department of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television released the TVOS1.0 software in Beijing. Subsequently, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television issued an order requiring the TVOS system to be installed on the cable OTT box. The first batch of pilot units are two cable TV operators, Jiangsu Cable and Shanghai Oriental Cable. The two have undertaken 500,000 sets of pilot promotion tasks respectively.
Currently, TVOS1.0-based cable TV set-top boxes and all-in-ones have been used in cable networks such as Oriental Cable Network Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Radio and Television Cable Information Network Co., Ltd., and Shaanxi Radio and Television Network Media (Group) Co., Ltd.
In August this year, according to the "People's Posts and Telegraph" report, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television issued a notice deciding to expand the pilot scope of the TVOS smart TV operating system among cable operators. This means that in the future, OTT set-top boxes and other terminals launched by cable operators around the world can only install and use TVOS1.0, and no other operating systems can be installed. With the release of TVOS2.0 and the establishment of the "Broadcast Intelligent Terminal Industry Alliance", TVOS is also expected to be more rapidly popularized.
